Maryland public airports generate $1.4 billion

Maryland’s nearly three dozen public-use airports generated $1.4 billion in economic activity last year, according to a recent report from the Maryland Aviation Administration (MAA).

The 33 airports examined in the report stretch from the Garrett County Airport in Western Maryland to the Ocean City Municipal Airport in Worcester County, and from the Claremont Airport in Cecil County to the Maryland Airport in Charles County. The study did not include BWI Airport, which compiles its own statewide economic impact report.
