Cambridge, MD, September 15, 2016 – EDC President & CEO Jim Coleman provided remarks on behalf of County Executive Rushern L. Baker, III at the Maryland Chamber of Commerce Business Policy and Competitiveness Conference in Cambridge, Maryland. Over 200 people attended the luncheon to kick off the conference that brought together influential business, policy and academic leaders from around Maryland to talk about business growth and public policy. “Everything that should be up is up, and everything that should be down is down in Prince George’s County,” said Coleman. “Because of the leadership of County Executive Baker, the median household income in Prince George’s County rose by $5,000 in the past year. More companies are growing and the County’s tax-base has increased because of hot new development projects like MGM National Harbor. Our schools are doing much better. Crime is down and the unemployment rates are down as a result of the creation of thousands of jobs. This is how we do it in Prince George’s County!”
