EDC President & CEO Jim Coleman Brokers Deal To Bring Over $500 Million In Investment For County Projects

Largo, MD December 14, 2016 - Yesterday, Economic Development Corporation President and CEO Jim Coleman and his International Business Development Team hosted an impromptu delegation of eleven business leaders from the China SanDing Holding Group in Yiwu Zhejiang China. Led by Lisa Liu, the EDC Asian Business Committee Chair, the delegation heard from Mr. Coleman as he talked about the incredible development projects that are taking place in the County and those that are on the horizon.  The delegation was extremely impressed with the projects and plans that make Prince George's County the best place to live, work, play and invest, and committed to working with the EDC to find lucrative opportunities to invest at least $500 million in Prince George's County real estate projects and companies.

"Today's delegation visit is a great prelude to County Executive Baker's Korea/China Trade Mission next year.  We are taking this opportunity to plant the seeds of success and looking for a great harvest to come with our new friends from China," said Coleman.  "Prince George's County has a strong track record of matchmaking the right projects with the right investors.  We are committed to helping the SanDing Group find the best projects to invest their $500 million. Prince George's County is Open for Business and Open for Investment and that translates into jobs, jobs, and more jobs for County residents.  It's a great day in Prince George's County."

Coleman also told the delegation about County Executive Baker's International Business Plan, which includes a business mission trip to Korea and China from April 17 through April 25, 2017. As a County-wide Foreign Trade Zone and being strategically located next to the Nation's Capital, Prince George's County's efforts to attract more Foreign Direct Investment are greatly enhanced through these type of foreign trade missions.

"We are very happy to come out to beautiful Prince George's County," said Zhimin Ding, Chairman and President of China SanDing Holding Group.  "The goal of our mission is to obtain a heightened knowledge of business in this area, to establish business relationships, and to find commercial projects to invest in.  With everything that is going on in Prince George's County, we welcome the opportunity to work with the Prince George's County Economic Development Corporation and look forward to hosting them when they come to China next year."
