PGCEDC congratulates Floyd "Beau" Wheeler on the grand opening of Free State Distillery in Upper Marlboro. Wheeler, a County resident and alumnus of Bowie State University stated to PGCEDC Business Development Manager, Restaurant/Retail Nicole Hall, "Prince George's County was the only option to locate his business.
Free State Distillery will feature Arthur Wheeler Sprits, named after Beau's grandfather. As the first black-owned distillery brand located in the County, Free State Distillery is committed to serving premium spirits while creating a destination amenity for the Greater Prince George's Community. Beau also partners with local farmers by using Prince George's County-grown corn and wheat for his spirits.
