Oasis In College Park Brings New Crowd Of Local Entrepreneurs To EDC's 'Thirsty For Business Thursday'

College Park, MD - Last Thursday, the Prince George's County Economic Development Corporation (EDC) and their 'posse' descended upon Fishnet Restaurant in College Park for the June 2017 edition of 'Thirsty (For Business) Thursday' for a night filled with high-powered networking in a quaint restaurant that creates a soothing tropical ambiance in the heart of one of the nation's biggest college towns. EDC President & 'Chief Excitement Officer' Jim Coleman welcomed the local businesses to not only network and start the process of making deals but to also support the Fishnet Restaurant as it a locally owned business. Over 100 business owners were excited to speak with each other about business opportunities in the aquatic environment.

"We are always excited to highlight local businesses who are providing innovative experiences for our residents," said Coleman. "I encourage everyone to visit this teal oasis in the heart of Prince George's County. Meet here for business while supporting a local business. Create job opportunities and take over the world! If you need help in the process of doing business and creating jobs, we're here for you. The EDC is your success partner and our greatest joy is seeing your business grow and succeed."

Fishnet Restaurant, owned by husband and wife team Ferhat and Keyia Yalcin, was the gracious venue and food sponsor for the event. District 3 County Council Member Dannielle Glaros and Maryland State Senator Jim Rosapepe also generously sponsored last week's event.

Local business owners and agencies officials from all over the County continue to come out network with federal, State and local government officials, non-profits and other local businesses in a relaxed, collaborative and social environment. Each month, #T4BT draws more newcomers into the 'posse'.

The next opportunity to network with the EDC will be tomorrow, June 21st when they will collaborate with TechBreakfast to host innovators, influencers and businesses from all parts of the 'Tech Ecosystem' to learn about the latest technology trends and identify potential investment opportunities.  This event will take place from 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. at National Harbor offices of Spartan Business & Technology, 161 National Plaza, Suite 200, Oxon Hill, MD 20745.  Please visit www.pgcedc.com/events.  Space is limited.
